About the College of Physicians and Surgeons of P.E.I.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island serves the public by regulating all physicians, associate physicians, clinical assistants, physician assistants, and podiatrists practicing in PEI in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and its Regulations.
All registrants in PEI must be registered by the College in order to practice in the province.
The duties of the College include:
- Registering qualified and competent registrants to practise
- Investigating and resolving registrant-related complaints on behalf of the public
- Monitoring and maintaining standards of practise through peer assessment
- Developing policies and guidelines to support high standards of practise and ethical conduct
