Reprimand – Dr. Arvind Singh

At a meeting of the Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of PEI, held on August 10, 2021, the following Order of Council was passed:

that whereas the Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of PEI confirmed the finding of the Fitness to Practise Committee of the College, with regard to the complaint by Council, regarding Income Tax charges against Dr. Arvind Singh, that Dr. Arvind Singh committed professional misconduct pursuant to Section 32(a) of the PEI Medical Act:

Professional Misconduct

A member may be found to be guilty of professional misconduct if

(a) he has been found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction of an offence which, in the opinion of the Complaints and Registration Committee, the Fitness to Practise Committee, a Board of Inquiry of the Council, relates to his suitability to practise medicine, and proof of such finding of guilt has been furnished;

The Council of the College adopts the recommendations of the Committee, with regard to the complaint by Council, regarding the Income Tax charges against Dr. Arvind Singh, and Orders that:

  1. Dr. Arvind Singh be given a written reprimand.
  2. Dr. Arvind Singh be required to participate in and successfully complete, within 6 months of the date the Order issued by Council is received by Dr. Singh, an individualized course in medical ethics satisfactory to the College, at his own expense. Dr. Singh shall provide to the College a report of successful completion of the course.
