Visiting Consultant
This Policy has been developed to address the applications of those physicians’ seeking registration for Visiting Consulting purposes.
To be eligible for registration for the purpose of Visiting Consulting only; the applicant needs to be providing a service to PEI patients that would have otherwise required the patient to travel off Island for care and a letter of sponsorship is required from Health PEI / Government of PEI. Additionally, applicants must have successfully completed the application process, with no conditions or restrictions attached to their registration, and hold a General/Full Registration in the province they reside in, in order to obtain registration as a Visiting Consultant.
The service provided in-person, in Prince Edward Island, would typically be clinics lasting for 1-2 days on a periodic basis.
